this is Beauty With Mi. There is one place that I go
every single week without fail, and that is Trader Joe's. I would always walk by the
beauty aisle at Trader Joe's, but I would never really
stop to take a good, hard look. Last month, I did an entire routine using
only products from Whole Foods, and when that video went up,
a bunch of you guys were like, "Do Trader Joe's!" So, I was like, "Okay!" So, I went to Trader Joe's
earlier today...
I got a big ol' bag of stuff. Sadly, unlike Whole Foods, Trader Joe's
does not have a makeup section. Before we get into it, though, please

Beauty With Mi
comes out at 11am! I bought a bunch of stuff, from my hair care
to my body lotion to my toner to my sunscreen, and the entire thing
came out to $89.10. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11,
12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17... 17 Items, and the most
expensive thing was $8.99. Can't complain.
The price is right
at Trader Joe's. I'm gonna try all this stuff
for the remainder of the week, and I will let you know at the end of the
week what I thought about everything. So, I will see you guys then. Bye! Hi guys! I am back and it has been seven
days since I last saw you.
I have been using the Trader Joe's
products for the entire week, and I've really enjoyed it! Please excuse the hair. I am filming a video later this afternoon
that is related to this hair, and it's going up in two weeks, so let me know in the comments
what you think I'm doing because it's a little bit different for me. But, enough rambling... Let's get into it.
The hair care aisle was a little bit daunting
for me just because my hair is color treated now. I was a little bit nervous about finding color
safe options at Trader Joe's, but I did. This is the shampoo that I chose. It's the Tea Tree Tingle shampoo.
It has this beautiful, refreshing tea tree,
eucalyptus-y kind of scent. It has no sulfate in it. And it is safe for all hair types. It makes your hair feel very clean.
This is the Tea Tree Tingle conditioner. I actually expected this to
be a lot lighter than it was. It actually is super hydrating. It made my hair feel super smooth.
Again, no sulfates. All around good conditioner; good little companion
to the Tea Tree Tingle shampoo. In the shower, I used
this oatmeal soap. I put this thingy back on it
because it was kind of gross.
But, I really like this soap! It's a really no-frills like,
oatmeal-infused soap. It smells good, and it doesn't
make your skin feel dry. The hair mask that I used
was this one. It's called the Trader Joe's
Shea Butter...
I always say "she-ya" butter... Shea butter and coconut oil hair mask. Wasn't as hydrating as
I would have liked. It does have a really nice texture, though,
it comes out like, as a nice, smooth cream.
I like that is comes in a squeeze
tube rather than a pot. I really don't like that so many
hair masks come in pots. And you have to stick your hands in it. You hair gets in it.
Water gets in it. It's disgusting. This is nice. It didn't give me that like, smoothness that
I like out of some of my other hair masks.
It did make my hair feel very soft. I would even just use it as a very deep
conditioning treatment like, as my conditioner. Let's talk about this body butter because
I loved this body butter! It smells so good. This is the coconut body butter.
It has coconut, shea butter,
and vitamin E in it. Instead of being like a
twist-off cap, it just... Wait. It just opens up like that.
You know when you have like, body butter all
over your hands and your hands are all like, greasy, and you don't want to have to screw
a cap back on something? You don't have to! It absorbs really fast. It's great just to slap on all over. And doesn't make my skin
feel really gross and oily. So, in the morning and night, I would use
this Trader Joe's spa face wash with tea tree oil.
I liked it. I think it was a nice, gentle cleanser. However, it's a little bit
soapier than other face washes. It just hangs around
longer on the skin, so you have to use a bit more
water to wash it off.
But, I do like that Trader Joe's has a face
wash that is targeted more at acne because tea tree oil is amazing for acne
because it's antibacterial. So, at night before I would go in with the
tea tree oil cleanser, I would use the Trader Joe's facial cleansing oil. I really like this. It cuts though waterproof
mascara really easily.
It's a good, basic cleansing oil. It removes makeup really well. Doesn't leave my skin feeling too oily,
although I always double-cleanse after I use a cleansing oil. Once my skin is clean, I would move on to
toner, and this is the rose water facial toner.
It just smells so nice. Rose water, rose oil, witch hazel... Good for oil control. It doesn't irritate my skin, so it's good.
So, moving on to serum. And I was kind of surprised to see this hyaluronic
acid serum at Trader Joe's just because it's kind of a fancy product for them to have. But it is really nice. It has a really nice like, gel, liquid-y consistency
that absorbs really quickly.
It is the summer right now,
so my skin is quite oily. I don't think this serum is something that I
need necessarily for this time of year. I think that I'm going to whip this out again
in the winter because I think it's gonna help with the flakiness that I get. So, it's good...
But I don't think I
need it right now. I love this moisturizer. It's the Trader Joe's nourish oil-free
antioxidant facial moisturizer. It's liquid-y, it absorbs really fast, it
doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or tacky.
It applies under
makeup beautifully. I actually was using this in the
morning and the night. It is on the lighter side when
it comes to moisturizers. And it was enough moisture for me.
As a spot treatment if I had a breakout or
if I felt like I was getting a breakout, I. Would use this tea tree oil. I'm just going to take a little bit of the
tea tree oil, mix it with a little bit of water just to dilute it, tap it
on to my little zit areas. I think it's a versatile, good product
just to have in your arsenal.
The final step of the routine
skincare wise, SPF. Now, this was a little bit upsetting because
I went to Trader Joe's... I was expecting them to have like, different
mineral sunscreen options, and they really don't. So, the reason that I was looking for mineral
sunscreen is because mineral sunscreens are coral-safe.
So, there are some ingredients... Oxybenzone and oxtinoxate
cause coral bleaching. So, I wanted to use a mineral sunscreen that
doesn't have those ingredients, and this was the only one that was there. So, it was a stick sunscreen; it's SPF 50.
I don't like stick sunscreens. But I had to use this,
and I will say... I really liked it. I brought this as my sunscreen like, in my
purse last weekend when I went to Chicago during a heatwave.
Unlike a lot of stick sunscreens,
it absorbs relatively quickly. It feels kind of like
a balmy moisturizer. Twice this week I used masks, and I
bought one mask from Trader Joe's. They have this blueberry acai facial scrub,
and it smells so good! Confirmation it smells good.
It has a really nice creamy texture. You can actually see the little like, berry
seeds in it, and that's what you can use to physically exfoliate your skin. But, it also has like, fruit enzymes and different
fruit acids in this, so it will chemically exfoliate too. So, I put it
all over my face, let it sit for a few minutes,
and then gently rubbed it off, and my skin felt super
smooth and nice after.
I think it's a good weekly exfoliant if
you want a little bit of a... Sorry, I got distracted. If you want like, a weekly exfoliation. Then, I made my own mask.
So, I usually mask like, two
to three times a week. And I was like, I can't
just use this one mask! So, I got a bunch of ingredients from Trader
Joe's to make my own mask. So, I used Greek yogurt,
honey, and oats. Oats are naturally very soothing and they
also provide a little bit of physical exfoliation once you take it off.
The Greek yogurt, unsweetened, has lactic
acid in it, so it helps kind of slough off dead skin cells. And then the honey is
a natural humectant. It is hydrating. And I just put it all over my face, let it
sit for a bit as well, wash it off, continue with the rest of my day.
So, that's a really great thing with really
common ingredients like, stuff that you would literally have for breakfast in a yogurt bowl,
but you put it on your face. Last but not least, the deodorant. Trader Joe's stocks Tom's of Maine, and
this is the unscented version. Hey guys, so I as back from work.
I'm gonna give myself a
little smell test... Not smelling anything so far, I
think I'm staying pretty fresh. I will say, though, it wasn't a
very, very hot day. And I do think because it is unscented, if
it was like swelteringly hot, and I was like, walking around or like, hiking or something
I think I would smell a little bit.
I liked it. I think the Tom's brand
of deodorants is really nice. It feels really good under the armpit, which
is like, a kind of a weird thing to say, but... You're not gonna want to wear deodorant if
it doesn't feel good on your armpit.
That's everything! Honestly, I don't think there was
a product that I didn't like. Hero products were definitely the antioxidant
moisturizer, the rose water facial toner, I really like the acai mask, the Tea Tree
Tingle shampoo, and the coconut body butter. And that's it! That's a lot of product, I hope that

I Tried A DIY Haircare Routine For Pastel HairBeauty With MiRefinery29
Hey guys, its Mi-Anne,
and this is Beauty with Mi. I have always been interested in DIY,
or Do It Yourself, beauty. I started getting into it,
I wanna say, in High School, and last year I did an entire skincare routine from scratch, and it
got me thinking, I should try to do this, but for hair. So, I did.
I interviewed NiKita Wilson,
she is an amazing cosmetic chemist here in the tri-state area, and she taught me how to make my own shampoo, my own conditioner,
my own hair mask, and my own dry shampoo. Hey guys, so I am here
with NiKita Wilson Hello, hello, hello! We go way back, Ive interviewed her
for so many stories before, her brain is full of beauty knowledge, so I thought shed be perfect
to help me concoct my DIY haircare routine. Im scared because my
hair is color treated, and the thought of making
something for my hair is really daunting. The thing about DIY is
everything is experimental.
Always, always, always,
always please, as a scientist, write down
what you have done because if you find that perfect formula and you dont remember
what you did, you are going to be so mad at yourself. Lets go to the regular shampoo. Okay. That seems difficult.
For your hair, I would probably say
use apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is a great
base for shampoo, because its clarifying, adds shine, and wont damage or alter my
color treated hair. I mixed 3 tablespoons of
apple cider vinegar, with 3 tablespoons of
glycerin for hydration, before adding 1 teaspoon
of flaxseed oil, which according to NiKita
helps seal the cuticle and moisturize the hair. If you have really fine hair, skip the oil, because its
only gonna way it down.
If you have really thick, course hair, then you want the oil, because
you want that extra moisturization. For conditioner, you want something thats
gonna draw moisture in, our humectant, something like glycerin, and then
you also want to seal it in. For conditioner, I mixed
1 teaspoon of water with 3 tablespoons of
glycerin to create a base. Then I added a bit of
flaxseed oil and honey to the mixture to hydrate my hair.
Well honey also acts like
kind of as a humectant, and it also draws moisture to the hair. Very sticky, you dont wanna use a lot of it. Moving on to mask. Oils and butters kinda will
be your mask base.
NiKita suggested I use a mixture of shea butter and cocoa butter
as a base for my mask. I used 2 tablespoons of each, melted them in the microwave at
10 second intervals, and mixed glycerin and honey
into the formula for extra hydration. So, I also have vitamin E here. Vitamin E is very good
as an antioxidant.
One we spoke about antioxidants
protecting color, because were using butters and oils vitamin E is actually also very good for protecting the actual
product itself. I added 4 drops of the oil
into my mixture, mixed it up, and I was good to go. If you also wanted to make
it a special treatment, right before you put it into your hair, take a little scoop of your mask, take a teaspoon of mayonnaise, now you have an
intensive protein treatment. Oh, because the protein
from the eggs.
Exactly. Look at you, moisturizing. Yes. Cant waste this precious butter.
I know. The benefit of a dry shampoo is it goes onto your scalp and
the roots of the hair and it absorbs oil. So, I would start with our
tapioca starch. Mix equal parts rice starch
and tapioca starch in a bowl.
On its most basic level this concoction will do its job
to keep your hair feeling fresh. But if you want to go the extra mile, add a few drops of tea tree oil
and peppermint oil to the mixture. Tea tree oil is antibacterial, and peppermint oil will give it
a refreshing scent. So that was actually really easy.
Its easy. Dry shampoos, as complicated
as they may seem are the most simple that were
gonna talk about today. Thank you so much. Thank you, this was fun.
Ill let you know how it goes. Its been a week of using products in my hair that these two hands have made. How did I feel about this experiment? I would say it was a good 50/50 split
in terms of the products. So, this is my hair air-dried.
My hair is actually a little
bit more wavy than it normally is, and I think it
is because of the shampoo and conditioner Ive been using. So, Ive been using this shampoo, which is the apple cider
vinegar based shampoo, and this is the one product that
I had a lot of difficulty with. Doesnt smell great. Oof.
Its very liquidly, Im just gonna put
it in straight. It was just going straight from my scalp and into my eyes, and it hurt so much. Its in my eyes! It made my hair feel really
clean, really nice. My boyfriend Colin did
say that it quote reeked.
What? It reeks dude. Then I rinsed it out, and he said you couldnt
smell it anymore. So To be completely honest I think this is the one item, out of everything that I used this week, that I probably wouldnt use again,
just because it is such a pain to use. Literally.
Moving along to the conditioner. Most conditioners feel very smooth
and creamy in the hair, this one doesnt really. It kinda feels like youre putting like
a gel in your hair almost. But my hair does feel
normal, soft, good.
I quite liked it. The hair mask. So, I really enjoyed this hair mask. I did mix it with a spoonful of mayonnaise, like NiKita said for protein.
The idea of mixing this
mask with mayonnaise and then putting it into
my hair was a little disgusting at first. But once its mixed together,
when its in your hair, you dont really notice it. It doesnt feel as smooth
as a normal hair mask. Because I was using melted butters, it did have a little bit
of a grainy texture.
And last but not least, the dry shampoo. So, my hair is quite dry, because its color treated,
so I dont need to wash my hair very often. I wash my hair I think twice this week and then I used dry shampoo a
couple of times in between. I did have to really rub it into my hair to get the white powder
to disperse through my roots.
If you have brown or black hair you could mix a little
bit of cocoa powder into the formula so its
not so stark white. It absorbs oil, it smells good because I put the tea tree oil
and the peppermint in it. So, I really like this I think Im definitely
gonna keep using it. Thats it! I think Im definitely gonna use up
the mask, just because theres
only a little bit left, and I did kinda like the way it
made my hair feel.
I did really enjoy the conditioner, and I do think that this might
have been the product that was making my hair curl a bit. I dont think Im gonna keep using the
shampoo though. Youve seen the clips. Its in my eyes! I hope that you guys enjoyed watching this video, I hope you guys learned something.

I Got Transformed Into Selena GomezBeauty EvolutionRefinery29
Dont forget to subscribe so you dont miss any of our videos. Growing up, I always looked up to Selena Gomez. Shes always been a role model to me and shes a very great role model for young girls. The first time I remember seeing Selena Gomez, it was way back when she was on Disney Channel.
I was actually a really big fan. I remember watching her on The Wizards of Waverly Place. By the way Selena, congratulations on being named Billboards Woman of the Year. Im so excited to transform into Selena.
Lets do it. So this first look were going to be doing is from the 2007 Teen Choice Awards. Shes a teenager, shes very fresh-faced. It's very Disney.
Oh my god. This is definitely a throwback look. I remember when these bangs were in. The next look Im very excited about.
Its more sophisticated. She has a little bit more makeup on but still very beautiful. I remember when this pompadour look was very in and she was rocking it. Im curious how big my hairs gonna look.
I really dont do my hair like this. I always have it down, so. Im nervous but Im so excited. Oh my god.
It very much looks like this look. Yep, I think we got it down. Out of all the looks were doing, by far this is the most bold for Selena. Its very simple yet sophisticated and glamorous.
Im really excited to see this look. Oh my god. I love it! I feel like I turned into a new person. For someone thats been in the limelight for so long, I loved watching her grow up and become this beautiful, young woman.

I Got Transformed Into KPop Star CLBeauty EvolutionRefinery29
CL is a part of a group called 2NE1
and I - that was my first introduction to that group. K-pop has consumed
my life on many different levels. Ill wake up in the morning and
Ill watch YouTube videos of any like new K-pop performances that Ive missed. I love CL because I read an interview
of hers maybe a couple of years ago where she talks about being a role model
for a lot of younger Asian women who look up to her.
She mentioned that,
you know, a lot of people are sort of afraid to kind of come out of their shells
and fully represent themselves as like this creative, human, expressive being. Shes trying to encourage these younger
women to sort of embrace that. If I were to meet CL, I would ask her if
we could be friends, because I think shes so cool. Before we get into it, dont forget

In this first look, CL is performing with
2NE1 during Iggys Best New Band Concert in 2011. It is reminiscent of one
of her looks in the I Am The Best music video from her outfit to her hair. It is a distinct look from early on in
her music career. For her eyes, she has winged out
eyeshadow.
CLs hair is pulled into a long dramatic
ponytail and she has a full set of bangs. For her lips, she has a nude gloss. Okay. Yayyy- OH MY GOD.
WHAT THE- I do look like a completely - AAHHHHH. This doesnt look like me. Oh my god. I like the, the eyes.
Ive never had this hair color

K-pop star look I think for me. My hair is really cool, and my

This one is my favorite one. I feel like this one is the most me. I feel like Im ready for my debut

and I - that was my first introduction to that group. K-pop has consumed
my life on many different levels. Ill wake up in the morning and
Ill watch YouTube videos of any like new K-pop performances that Ive missed. I love CL because I read an interview
of hers maybe a couple of years ago where she talks about being a role model
for a lot of younger Asian women who look up to her.
She mentioned that,
you know, a lot of people are sort of afraid to kind of come out of their shells
and fully represent themselves as like this creative, human, expressive being. Shes trying to encourage these younger
women to sort of embrace that. If I were to meet CL, I would ask her if

In this first look, CL is performing with
2NE1 during Iggys Best New Band Concert in 2011. It is reminiscent of one
of her looks in the I Am The Best music video from her outfit to her hair. It is a distinct look from early on in

I Got The $65 Laser Facial For AcneBeauty With MiRefinery29
Hey guys, this is Mi-Anne, and
this is Beauty With Mi. Ever since I got my zipts zapped,
I wanna say a year and a half ago at Dermalogica, Ive been on the
hunt for another facial that is as good for acne. I found one. Its at a spa called Skin Laundry,
which has locations all around the U.S.
And the treatment is called the Laser
and Light Facial. It uses lasers to
combat things like acne, inflammation, redness, brighten the overall complexion,
and it only takes 15 minutes. I went last week! So, Im gonna show you the entire process. Ill let you know what I thought,
but first you have to make sure youre subscribed.
Down below, you know the drill, red button,
hangout with me every Monday, 11 AM is Beauty With Mi Day. So, without further ado,
lets go to the spa. I was a little bit nervous to go get this
treatment, because I was afraid that it would hurt or sting, but as soon as I
got there my nervousness just went away as soon as I met my nurse, Elyse. Hi Mi-Anne!
Welcome to Skin Laundry.
Hi! My name is Elyse. Ill be the nurse performing
your 15 minute laser facial today. So, what we do here at Skin Laundry
is a 2-part treatment. The first is a
Yag Laser, and the second is a I.P.L., Which stands for, Intense Pulsed Light.
Okay. The laser will be the first portion where
well do 2 passes of your face. What that does is it targets pigments. What will help break up any hyper
pigmented areas.
And its also going to deep clean
your pores. So, anybody who has acne,
breakouts, clogged pores, blackheads. Its going to vaporize dirt. During the laser portion of the treatment,
youll feel a little bit of heat and prickling.
If youd like a break at any time just
let me know, but you shouldnt have any discomfort. Amazing. Well I cant wait to start. After Elyse told me what to expect,
what it would feel like, she brought me to the treatment table and I removed any
residual makeup with a cleansing wipe.
Then came the fun part. While Im doing the laser treatment,
you may smell something, this is not your hair or skin burning, its just the
vapors getting cleaned out. I smell it. You smell it already.
It smells weird. Okay, good.
So, thats the smell of success. That means your skin is getting
deeply cleaned. This one, Im not gonna lie,
didnt feel great.
It felt like prickly,
like I dont think that I would have been able to withstand having that laser on
my face for much more than like 10 minutes. Good thing the facial is only 15! And that was one pass. Well do
2 passes. How are you doing? Good.
Sometimes I can see stuff come up
to the surface, I havent really seen anything like that with you, but it is
possible that wherever there is underlying congestion can
come to the surface. If that happens,
we call it purging, and its just a natural part of the healing process. We recommend that if you do have any
purging, you just come back in a few days for another treatment that will help clear
it right up. So, once the first laser was done,
Elyse brought out the I.P.L.
Machine. Ill be applying some cold gel to your
face. The gel is just a water-based
ultrasound gel. Its going to keep your
skin nice and cool.
And the purpose is
to help evenly spread the light, so it acts as a conductor for the I.P.L.
Treatment. You will feel a little bit of
heat, and mostly youre just going to observe a very bright light. Woah. So, what does this one do in
comparison to the first? Its also targeting redness and
inflammation.
And it leaves your skin
with a bit of tightened feeling. So, after the treatment
you should feel tighter, brighter, glowing, clean. They both deliver light energy, but theyre
delivering the energy in different wavelengths. How often is it recommended to
get this treatment? This treatment is mild enough and safe
enough to do every other day.
Most people come between every 7
and 10 days. And thats it. And now I will apply and a
little bit of toner. Ooo.
And Ill apply a little bit of daily
moisturizer with SPF. How does your skin feel? It feels good. Im excited to see
what it looks like. Good.
Well you look great.
Take a look. Oh. My skin looks a lot less red. Is that just me? Yes.
It definitely looks calmer, brighter. Its healthy and clean. So, what should I do now that were done? Our after care is very simple because the
treatment is so mild and safe. We recommend that you reapply sunscreen
every 2 hours.
If you do any manual
exfoliation, like a Clarisonic brush or scrubs, just wait until
tomorrow for that. Okay. Does it make your skin a little
bit more sensitive to that? It can. And we just dont wanna
over exfoliate.
Got it. Because your skin has just been exfoliated,
so we just want to give it time. Its been a week since I've gotten
the treatment and my skin has been really smooth. The makeup has gone on
really well over it.
I think that for
the time that it takes to commit to the facial, its like a no brainer. Skin Laundry offers the first facial free,

called the Light Therapy Acne Mask. Now it uses blue and red light to target
acne causing bacteria. It is super easy to use.
It turns on! And you just sit tight really for
10 minutes. It will automatically turn off
and its essentially your mask, but you dont have to wash it off,
so you just chill, sit on the couch. The second is much more traditional,
but you know how much I love a good exfoliating mask. This is a
San Francisco based brand.
Its called Monastery, and this is
the Exfoliating Glycolic Gel. Whats nice about it is its very,
very gentle mask. I wouldnt say its
the same as the Light and Laser Facial, but it does give you that instant
brightening effect. Because it has the
rose water in it, it is very soothing, so I dont tend to get any redness from it.
All around, a goodie. So, that is it. I hope you guys

How Much Does Sleep Affect Your Beauty Ladylike
We all know that a sound night of sleep sets a good bitch up for success. But how does it affect
your overall beauty? I mean, makeup has come a long way, and maybe it can hide
the fact that you were up on Twitter until 2:30 last night. That was me. So this week, Kristen and
I are going to conduct a little experiment to
see how much eight, six, and four hours of sleep
affects our overall beauty.
It's LadyLike and this
week we're finding out how much sleep affects your beauty. Full disclosure: it was
pretty hard to find someone to do this experiment with me. - [Devin] Will you do a video with me? No. - [Devin] It's about
sleep and sleep patterns.
Absolutely not. When I don't get enough
sleep, my face looks like that of an old dog. Like, I have droopy jowls and I'm like... Whenever I feel like I
haven't had enough sleep, I just feel like I become a chipmunk.
I end up rubbing my face a lot more. Really hard to do a cat eye cause my eyelids are
like sunken grocery bags full of cans. (Laughs hysterically) You know when you got a bag full of cans and it's like, oh that bag, it's definitely lumpy and droopy. That's my eyelid when I don't sleep.
So I typically get about
seven hours of sleep. I usually get six and a half
to seven hours of sleep. If I go to sleep by midnight, I get seven hours of sleep. If I don't go to sleep by 1:30, I'm up until about 5:30 in the morning.
I love the morning. I wake up pretty early. I wake up at like 6:15 every morning, and I like to go to bed
anywhere from like 10:30 to 11:30 in that span of time. Because if I don't have a lot of sleep, I become so emotional.
I'm having a diva moment right now. (Whimpers) It's gonna be pretty interesting this week when I get six and four. I'm a light, light, light sleeper. If there's a loud noise
outside, I will wake up.
I'm such an easy sleeper, and I know that's a blessing because for a lot of people out there, it's really hard to get a
good, sound night of sleep. When you're telling a
woman she looks tired, what you're usually telling her is you're not wearing makeup. Which is nonsense. Don't do that! People often tell me I look
tired when I'm not tired.
So that's why it always
confuses me because sometimes when I haven't gotten
the most amount of sleep, no one ever says you look tired. It's always when I'm having
like an emotional moment. They're like, are you tired? And then I'm like, no. 'Cause I'm not changing my makeup routine because I'm doing the same
routine throughout the week, I don't think makeup will make
me look less tired this week.
I don't know, I think it's not gonna hide a damn thing. I think makeup definitely
makes you look more awake than you actually are. But I don't think makeup is a wizard, so I don't know how awake
it's gonna make me look. For three nights this week, Kristen and I are gonna
get eight hours, six hours, and four hours of sleep.
We're then gonna take
selfies with makeup on to see how our face changes
with those amounts of sleep. Also, just to clarify, when we say, "How much does sleep affect your beauty," I don't mean overall beauty, inner beauty. Because you're still beautiful,
no matter how many hours of sleep you get. So this video's about how
makeup sits on your face when you have different amounts of sleep.
Alright, this is a terrible idea. Alright, this should be a fun day or week. Whatever we're doing. I don't even remember.
Time to get ready for bed. I'm gonna wash my face and brush my teeth and settle in, here I go. So, I have an early call time. I'm gonna try to put some
green tea packets on my eyes and take a shower and maybe some Advil to take down the facial swelling.
I am not a morning person. I am a night person. My natural rhythm is to
go to bed at 1:00 a.M., Which is problem because I
have to be back up at 7:30. It's really, really tough for
me to build in eight hours of sleep because that's just
not how my natural rhythm is.
This is the side I was sleeping on. You can tell because it's squished. - [Woman] True or False:
Certain studies find that reduced sleep over
a period of 3 weeks shows significant result
on subjects' faces. True.
(Buzzer) - [Woman] False.
What? - [Woman] Certain studies
find that reduced sleep over a period of 3 days! Wait, what? I mean, I feel like I'm
never getting enough sleep so like, I'm curious as
to what my baseline is.
Like, what do I look
like when I'm well-rested for a whole week? That morning, I woke up
and looked at my face and I was alarmed. When I actually looked at it, my eyes looked puffy, my pores looked big. I just looked sad. I think I was asleep at 2:00
and then I woke up at 5:30.
Good, yeah. Pretty much similar. I look like shit.
Same. Look at these eyes.
I look like fucking ass butt, I look like something I ate. Why are you eating ass butt? Well, 'cause it was the
only thing available, Devin! Eventually throughout the day with a little caffeine and
a little breathing room, I feel like, my face
like calmed down a bit, but people could definitely
tell that I was tired. Do you have like really dark circles under your eyes that you're
hiding with makeup right now? Funny that you ask that, because I got four hours
of sleep last night. Why! I did it for a video.
But, like, honestly--
Can you tell? I can honestly, even in the shadows, I can see-- Like, look! Look at yourself. There's definitely discoloration... You normally have pretty
flawless looking skin. And it's kind of dark under there.
When my makeup-- When it looks like I was overcompenating with
makeup, it just highlighted the fact that I was even more tired. The day after I'd slept
four hours the night before, there were baseball playoffs, and I had two and a half
beers and I was toasty. 'Cause I hadn't slept so I was just like, (scat singing) I've had two and a half beers, 'cause I had three and
a half hours of sleep. I'm so tired! True or false: Poor sleepers have the same/netural assessment
as regular sleepers when it comes to their
own facial appearance.
I'm going to say no, just
because when I'm really cranky I think that I look like trash. So at least I got that one right. I know that I need to slow down and rest sometimes, most of the time ... But I didn't know that it was immediately reflected in the body.
My skin's looking a little sad today. Makes me think, like, I need to go home, I need to get an effin' nap, because I do not want
to look like a raccoon. A raccoon! I was like, puffier, and like, all the crags were out to play. It was like the grand canyon was doing a one day stop on my face.
So yeah, that day was super rough. I felt like my makeup really didn't even sit on my face that well. I feel like when I was tired, the makeup wasn't even
sinking in to my pores. It was just like all sitting on top.
I'm never doing that again. I learned what a horrible idea that was. I can't do that to myself
before a big shoot. I have to force myself to go to sleep.
I got about six hours of sleep last night. I've got bags under my eyes. Puffy upper lid. My cheeks feel swollen too.
The next thing we did
was six hours of sleep, and I think, like, I felt
the most normal that day. I got six hours of sleep! I'm going to put my make up on. I don't know, I don't look that bad for having gotten six hours of sleep, but that could be because I'm still young and my face still has a lot of elasticity. I mean, my eyelids are
kind of swollen, honestly.
This is stupid, I feel bad, I want to sleep so much. Okay, so I had a little steam, I'm going to have a little caffeine, and my skin is starting to
look a little less puffy and a little bit more clear. I know all this stuff is super minute, and the internet is
probably going to be like, Devin what are you talking about, your face is completely
the same, everyday. I feel a difference, especially in my eyes and my cheeks, depending
on how much sleep I get.
I feel like my makeup sits differently depending on how much sleep I get, so today is an example of a day where I just feel like-- and I have a feeling I'm
going to put on my makeup, and it's just going to kind
of be randomly oily here. - [Woman] True or false: Sleep deprivation can worsen inflammatory conditions in the skin. True.
- [Woman] Yeah! Inflammation is caused
by your immune system being wacky and if you don't sleep enough, then your immunte system doesn't have enough time to regenerate itself properly. My whole body felt like tenderized meat this morning.
And my face is, I think, kind of reflecting that. Again, don't mind the hair. Although... I don't
know, it's kind of cute.
I'm so tired I got primer in my hair. I don't know if I look anymore tired today than I do any other day, 'cause I kind of just
look tired all the time. I have like 75% of my eyebrows done. I don't know if I'm going to go back and finish the eyebrow.
Though apparently I have
to because of my job. So, a six hour sleep day for me is a normal day. I felt just the usual amount of, like, I haven't slept enough
but I've slept enough to get through life. Time for makeup on a face that has only had six hours of sleep.
Hopefully it's okay. True or false: Without enough deep sleep, the repair process of
your skin will be slowed but will eventually adapt
to your new sleeping habits. Okay, I'm going to say true, because I feel like the body adapts to whatever you're doing. False!? That's crazy to me, what! I mean as I get older, I feel like I'm just getting less and less amount of sleep.
Your body needs rest. I've done my full makeup now, and because my makeup and my skills are pretty effective, I
don't look that tired. But I feel exhausted. I also know that in a few hours, this stuff is all going to be in here.
My makeup was pretty normal. It sat on my skin normally, I have really large pores so about halfway through the day, my makeup starts to sort
of hibernate in my pores. I'm not going to apologize for the fact that my brain is awake
from like a certain hour of time that is not
compatible with the sun. For me, the part of my face that betrays me the most are my eyes.
You can definitely tell if I'm like, got enough sleep or if I'm well rested with my eyes, because I have hooded eyes, and whenever I'm sleepy, my mascar just gets on
the top of my eyelids. But I definitely get a
lot more makeup runoff here when I'm tired. I notice that happened a couple times in the six hour try. I felt like that was a
baseline example of my face, the six hour day.
I have had eight hours of sleep, and my eyes are definitely bigger. Usually when I've had four hours of sleep, my eyes are like little pistachio. But in this case, they're

This is like a tyipcal
day of makeup for me. Whenever I get enough sleep, I feel like I'm hydrated. My skin looks, like, hydrated. If I don't get enough sleep, I feel dehydrated and puffy.
Just little things I'm
noticing as I'm focusing on my sleep and how makeup
is sitting on my face. - [Woman] True or false: Sleep-deprived women show signs of premature skin aging and a decrease in their skins' ability to
recover after sun exposure. True! I don't think that exact
fact has been brought to my attention before,
but it makes total sense. Like, sleep is when your body recovers, and in order for your body
to regenerate skin cells to heal damage, you need more sleep in order to have more recovery time.
Okay, I'm applying my makeup
and I can already tell that my foundation is
going on a little smoother, a little bit less runny, a little bit less flaky, my skin is a little bit less angry today. I could not explain it, like, my skin was smooth, it was super, like, not craggy. Usually when I'm asleep,
my eyes are sort of like this, and then when
I'm awake, it's like my nautral status is just eyes are open, big, ready for the day! I feel like the mascara
portion is like a good test to see if I'm tired or not, because if I'm tired, the
mascara gets on this upperlid, 'cause my eyes are swollen. But if I am well rested, it
just kind of sits nicely.
So my makeup is pretty much done, this is my look for the day, my eight hour well rested look. So, yeah, we'll see how this lasts. Do I look rested to you? You do look quite rested, actually. Oh, really?

Oh, it's so soft! Oh thank you, I grew it myself. Good job! Your skin looks pretty nice, it looks like it normally does to me. Did you do something different? Yes, I slept for two more hours than I usually do. Oh cool, yeah that'll do it.
I think it's really interesting having both Kirsten and I in this video. I can't imagine staying awake all night. But then again, I'm sure
she says to herself, like, fuck, Devin, I can't
believe she does that. I didn't really think it
would make a difference how much sleep I got.
I kind of think I just sort
of look the same with make up. But actually, yeah. At least in my mind, it kind of does. I look at my face all the time.

biggest orgaan in the body. I'm a busy, working woman. A woman! A woman, I'm a busy, working lady, and I don't sleep ever.

now, that's the dealio. We're taking selfies. All of these things are probably very minute, the change
is probably very minute for the viewers watching the video, but for us feeling our
skin and feeling our face, was just-- It was insane. I had no idea that slepe
could really affect your face and the way you
view your face so much.
'Cause my eight hour day, I was like, feeling so good. My makeup sat on my skin pretty well. Also when I'm tired,
because my eyes water, I get a lot of transfer on my lids, and a lot of sort of mascara snowing on my under eyes, there
wasn't a lot of that. It's the end of the day and there's no red cone situation going on down here.
I think sleep is a miracle. A tiny, little, invisible miracle. As I get older, I realize how much more important sleep is. I think when I was younger I was like, yeah, I could pull two
all nighters in a row! Woo, I'm a cowboy! But now, it's like, no,
I need to be at my best.
I don't need to stay
up until the East coast wakes up on Twitter. Everyone can benefit from even a couple nights a week
getting eight hours of sleep, would be very, very healthy. I feel like even your
whole view of yourself would be much different. I think a problem that we have is that so much of the work that we do in businesses, especially our business, is collaborative and so it means you've got to be on a team schedule.
So it's really, really tough when someone has sort of a
circadian rhythm that's off, for them to be at their best. My face is a part of team Kristen, so that's another team I
have to support with sleep. Figuring out how much
sleep affects your skin, lady-tested, lady-a'snoozed. Nobody yells at vampires for
being productive at night.
They yell at vampires for other things! Logic! Yeah! (Bright percussive music).
your overall beauty? I mean, makeup has come a long way, and maybe it can hide
the fact that you were up on Twitter until 2:30 last night. That was me. So this week, Kristen and
I are going to conduct a little experiment to
see how much eight, six, and four hours of sleep
affects our overall beauty.
It's LadyLike and this
week we're finding out how much sleep affects your beauty. Full disclosure: it was
pretty hard to find someone to do this experiment with me. - [Devin] Will you do a video with me? No. - [Devin] It's about
sleep and sleep patterns.
Absolutely not. When I don't get enough
sleep, my face looks like that of an old dog. Like, I have droopy jowls and I'm like... Whenever I feel like I
haven't had enough sleep, I just feel like I become a chipmunk.
I end up rubbing my face a lot more. Really hard to do a cat eye cause my eyelids are
like sunken grocery bags full of cans. (Laughs hysterically) You know when you got a bag full of cans and it's like, oh that bag, it's definitely lumpy and droopy. That's my eyelid when I don't sleep.
So I typically get about
seven hours of sleep. I usually get six and a half
to seven hours of sleep. If I go to sleep by midnight, I get seven hours of sleep. If I don't go to sleep by 1:30, I'm up until about 5:30 in the morning.
I love the morning. I wake up pretty early. I wake up at like 6:15 every morning, and I like to go to bed
anywhere from like 10:30 to 11:30 in that span of time. Because if I don't have a lot of sleep, I become so emotional.
I'm having a diva moment right now. (Whimpers) It's gonna be pretty interesting this week when I get six and four. I'm a light, light, light sleeper. If there's a loud noise
outside, I will wake up.
I'm such an easy sleeper, and I know that's a blessing because for a lot of people out there, it's really hard to get a
good, sound night of sleep. When you're telling a
woman she looks tired, what you're usually telling her is you're not wearing makeup. Which is nonsense. Don't do that! People often tell me I look
tired when I'm not tired.
So that's why it always
confuses me because sometimes when I haven't gotten
the most amount of sleep, no one ever says you look tired. It's always when I'm having
like an emotional moment. They're like, are you tired? And then I'm like, no. 'Cause I'm not changing my makeup routine because I'm doing the same
routine throughout the week, I don't think makeup will make
me look less tired this week.
I don't know, I think it's not gonna hide a damn thing. I think makeup definitely
makes you look more awake than you actually are. But I don't think makeup is a wizard, so I don't know how awake
it's gonna make me look. For three nights this week, Kristen and I are gonna
get eight hours, six hours, and four hours of sleep.
We're then gonna take
selfies with makeup on to see how our face changes
with those amounts of sleep. Also, just to clarify, when we say, "How much does sleep affect your beauty," I don't mean overall beauty, inner beauty. Because you're still beautiful,
no matter how many hours of sleep you get. So this video's about how
makeup sits on your face when you have different amounts of sleep.
Alright, this is a terrible idea. Alright, this should be a fun day or week. Whatever we're doing. I don't even remember.
Time to get ready for bed. I'm gonna wash my face and brush my teeth and settle in, here I go. So, I have an early call time. I'm gonna try to put some
green tea packets on my eyes and take a shower and maybe some Advil to take down the facial swelling.
I am not a morning person. I am a night person. My natural rhythm is to
go to bed at 1:00 a.M., Which is problem because I
have to be back up at 7:30. It's really, really tough for
me to build in eight hours of sleep because that's just
not how my natural rhythm is.
This is the side I was sleeping on. You can tell because it's squished. - [Woman] True or False:

never getting enough sleep so like, I'm curious as
to what my baseline is.
Like, what do I look
like when I'm well-rested for a whole week? That morning, I woke up
and looked at my face and I was alarmed. When I actually looked at it, my eyes looked puffy, my pores looked big. I just looked sad. I think I was asleep at 2:00
and then I woke up at 5:30.
Good, yeah. Pretty much similar. I look like shit.
Same. Look at these eyes.
I look like fucking ass butt, I look like something I ate. Why are you eating ass butt? Well, 'cause it was the
only thing available, Devin! Eventually throughout the day with a little caffeine and
a little breathing room, I feel like, my face
like calmed down a bit, but people could definitely
tell that I was tired. Do you have like really dark circles under your eyes that you're
hiding with makeup right now? Funny that you ask that, because I got four hours
of sleep last night. Why! I did it for a video.
But, like, honestly--
Can you tell? I can honestly, even in the shadows, I can see-- Like, look! Look at yourself. There's definitely discoloration... You normally have pretty
flawless looking skin. And it's kind of dark under there.
When my makeup-- When it looks like I was overcompenating with
makeup, it just highlighted the fact that I was even more tired. The day after I'd slept
four hours the night before, there were baseball playoffs, and I had two and a half
beers and I was toasty. 'Cause I hadn't slept so I was just like, (scat singing) I've had two and a half beers, 'cause I had three and
a half hours of sleep. I'm so tired! True or false: Poor sleepers have the same/netural assessment
as regular sleepers when it comes to their
own facial appearance.
I'm going to say no, just
because when I'm really cranky I think that I look like trash. So at least I got that one right. I know that I need to slow down and rest sometimes, most of the time ... But I didn't know that it was immediately reflected in the body.
My skin's looking a little sad today. Makes me think, like, I need to go home, I need to get an effin' nap, because I do not want
to look like a raccoon. A raccoon! I was like, puffier, and like, all the crags were out to play. It was like the grand canyon was doing a one day stop on my face.
So yeah, that day was super rough. I felt like my makeup really didn't even sit on my face that well. I feel like when I was tired, the makeup wasn't even
sinking in to my pores. It was just like all sitting on top.
I'm never doing that again. I learned what a horrible idea that was. I can't do that to myself
before a big shoot. I have to force myself to go to sleep.
I got about six hours of sleep last night. I've got bags under my eyes. Puffy upper lid. My cheeks feel swollen too.
The next thing we did
was six hours of sleep, and I think, like, I felt
the most normal that day. I got six hours of sleep! I'm going to put my make up on. I don't know, I don't look that bad for having gotten six hours of sleep, but that could be because I'm still young and my face still has a lot of elasticity. I mean, my eyelids are
kind of swollen, honestly.
This is stupid, I feel bad, I want to sleep so much. Okay, so I had a little steam, I'm going to have a little caffeine, and my skin is starting to
look a little less puffy and a little bit more clear. I know all this stuff is super minute, and the internet is
probably going to be like, Devin what are you talking about, your face is completely
the same, everyday. I feel a difference, especially in my eyes and my cheeks, depending
on how much sleep I get.
I feel like my makeup sits differently depending on how much sleep I get, so today is an example of a day where I just feel like-- and I have a feeling I'm
going to put on my makeup, and it's just going to kind
of be randomly oily here. - [Woman] True or false: Sleep deprivation can worsen inflammatory conditions in the skin. True.
- [Woman] Yeah! Inflammation is caused
by your immune system being wacky and if you don't sleep enough, then your immunte system doesn't have enough time to regenerate itself properly. My whole body felt like tenderized meat this morning.
And my face is, I think, kind of reflecting that. Again, don't mind the hair. Although... I don't
know, it's kind of cute.
I'm so tired I got primer in my hair. I don't know if I look anymore tired today than I do any other day, 'cause I kind of just
look tired all the time. I have like 75% of my eyebrows done. I don't know if I'm going to go back and finish the eyebrow.
Though apparently I have
to because of my job. So, a six hour sleep day for me is a normal day. I felt just the usual amount of, like, I haven't slept enough
but I've slept enough to get through life. Time for makeup on a face that has only had six hours of sleep.
Hopefully it's okay. True or false: Without enough deep sleep, the repair process of
your skin will be slowed but will eventually adapt
to your new sleeping habits. Okay, I'm going to say true, because I feel like the body adapts to whatever you're doing. False!? That's crazy to me, what! I mean as I get older, I feel like I'm just getting less and less amount of sleep.
Your body needs rest. I've done my full makeup now, and because my makeup and my skills are pretty effective, I
don't look that tired. But I feel exhausted. I also know that in a few hours, this stuff is all going to be in here.
My makeup was pretty normal. It sat on my skin normally, I have really large pores so about halfway through the day, my makeup starts to sort
of hibernate in my pores. I'm not going to apologize for the fact that my brain is awake
from like a certain hour of time that is not
compatible with the sun. For me, the part of my face that betrays me the most are my eyes.
You can definitely tell if I'm like, got enough sleep or if I'm well rested with my eyes, because I have hooded eyes, and whenever I'm sleepy, my mascar just gets on
the top of my eyelids. But I definitely get a
lot more makeup runoff here when I'm tired. I notice that happened a couple times in the six hour try. I felt like that was a
baseline example of my face, the six hour day.

FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNABRUTALLY HONEST REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!
Hey guys welcome back to my channel *Fake laugh* So today's video is going to be a highly requested video today's video is all about Fenty beauty I'm gonna do my whole entire face using all Fenty beauty products. I was in New York I went to the Fenty Beauty event I got to see Rihanna there, and it was so Incredible I was shaking I was like that's Rihanna ten feet in front of me such a cool well done event I thought was absolutely Beautifully done and the products were there We got to play with them a little bit so basically I got home last night And I had a huge PR package waiting for me, so I figured you know what these are all the products here I'm going to film a huge get ready with me Using all of the fenty beauty products film it for a review and a lot of you guys are like Manny where the fuck is this review so many people have done it already of course And I really, if you're watching this, I very much appreciate you watching this. I know it's up pretty late I have been using some of the products here and there when I was in New York I was there for eight days and that is why I couldn't get my video up earlier Literally Laura and Jeffree had it up like the next day and day and a half New York is really draining for me. They push through it.

All of it. Okay guys, let's go ahead and get started a lot of these products I have not used, but I will let you know of the products I have used and that I have tried and I'll have of course a stronger opinion on those a lot of these things are gonna Be more of a first impressions for me as well, so let's get started I have not tried this so this is the Fenty beauty Pro filter soft matte primer and this guy retails for $32 and you get how much you guys get in here 1.08 Fluid ounces Which is a really good amount of product for a primer.
That's very very very fair. Okay? It comes out More of a creamy almost like a lotion-y consistency Yeah, it feels like lotion 100%, so we're gonna put that all over The skin smells really nice actually smells like lotion Feels like lotion, too - I think there's definitely some drag when I'm putting on the skin like I really have to like move the product whoa Much more viscous, but it feels really nice on the skin so personally I have also been using a little bit of pore fessional from benefit in the t-zone I have again gnarly pores and I feel like it really helps this foundation look a lot better so I put a little bit of Porefessional in the center, so now I'm gonna take the little foundation brush. It's very thick a very dense very soft I'm liking it, and I'm gonna take the foundation. This is the Fenty Beauty Foundation It says shake well shake away, and you get one point zero eight fluid ounces in here and this retails for $34 so I think that is such a fair price point for a foundation I think that's actually really amazing when I tell you that I've worn this foundation every single day that I was in New York, I'm not kidding.
Since Friday, I had been wearing this foundation every Single day that I was in New York every single day because I liked it so much and I'm not kidding It's literally like when I found my favorite foundations right now every single day I worn this I've been complimented on my skin, and I'm like yo and when that's happening bitch So this is more of a soft and matte foundation and gives you about a medium coverage It doesn't give you really full full coverage unless you build it up to be more full but again It looks beautiful on the skin, and I definitely can say it builds up very nicely I build it to be full personally because I'm a full coverage girl But if you're not a full coverage kind of person, this foundation still looks wonderful because it gives you a really nice Medium coverage doesn't look really scary on the skin It just looks really pretty But it does dry very quickly So you need to work with it kind of quickly and like really make sure that gets into the skin nicely You know patting motions of course will give you more coverage, and I'll take one more pump And I'll take the little Rihanna beauty sponge. This is the first time you it It's very soft very squishy, so I like that I'm gonna pounce out all over the skin Sponge is $16, so it's cheaper than the Beautyblender, but it feels like the Beautyblender which is pretty nice I'm just gonna pack this all over the skin just to build up the coverage a little bit and again This is in the shade at 230 I find this one matches me a little bit better when I was at the event they have like different little sections that you can Go and try some of the products, and you can pick what you wanted to have and they were color matching people But I thought this was really weird like they were color matching people and there was a lot of red lighting everywhere It wasn't like natural white light or there wasn't no like there was no sunlight so people that were getting matched I'm assuming we're getting matched with the wrong shade I grabbed the shade 230 cuz I matched myself And I'm like hopefully this is like decent and it was decent it was totally fine Don't get me wrong, but it wasn't like definitely my color even this one is a little bit dark for me But it's so more neutral as you can see guys. It is definitely a soft matte finish It's not really shiny whatsoever but it's not super matte. I think it's perfect I love that it literally looks like it filtered on your skin sets itself It's a great foundation and I fucking love it.
So the next product that we have are the match sticks these retail for $25 And I'm gonna take the shade maple and it's a basically is like a bronzy shade how much product you get inside of it you Get point 25 ounces, which of course, I really do not think this is a lot of product I think it's actually a very little amount of product for 25 bucks, and you'll see where I put this or no, okay? Ok..We're not gonna use that shade Because that's literally doing nothing, thank god i grab the shade amber as well. This is more of a cool tone contour shade Okay, so maple was a flop amber was a flop. Let's go and try to shade mocha now because I just feel like those are Really, not working. This is definitely much more of a darker one.
There we go, that looks more accurate And now, we're gonna take the contour and concealer brush This is like a little tiny brush that they have and this retails for okay, so this little guys 24 bucks It's like a kind of an on-the-go little contour brush. I think this is um. I don't know man I personally would not spend 25 bucks on this I definitely would not buy it myself, but if you guys are fans of Rihanna awesome. I'm gonna go ahead and blend this Matchstick in with the foundation, okay? Okay that definitely looks a lot better than it does on this side It's still not like living for it though hold on we're gonna try it on this Yeah, I'm gonna do it like this this is how I'm gonna apply I'm not gonna apply it from the stick directly.
To me, the stick's a little bit too hard And I feel like they take off too much product, but they blend out pretty good There's definitely no harsh lines or anything that but of course I am stippling with this little brush And I would definitely suggest applying it with a brush and not applying it directly on your skin. Well the color is beautiful I like mocha a lot. That's definitely the color that works the best for me, so it blends out don't get me wrong I just think that it takes a little bit of time to blend out it's not like an easy like Quick thing as much with the sponge it definitely blends up a lot nicer than it does with the little brush I would definitely not really suggest the brush the sponge is a lot prettier And it looks a lot more diffused and not as harsh. It's not my favorite product It's definitely my favorite product the the cream stick in the contour shade let's go and try the light shade This is supposed to be a concealer and highlighter in one also guys one more thing I fuckin love Rihanna I love her so much.
I think she's literally amazing and if I can fucking switch lives with anyone It would be her, but that does not mean I'm not gonna be as honest as I possibly can be in a review about her products all I'm saying is I'm gonna be honest No matter what and if you guys don't like that if you guys think that I'm being like mean towards her Or if you guys are gonna be intense and like defend her yo, I get that but it's a review I'm a youtuber this is what I do full-time and Just because I love Rihanna just because you guys love Rihanna does not mean that every single product of hers is gonna work amazingly for Me personally the matchstick Contour stick was not a win again. This is like one of those products. That's not it's not as emollient It's nice creamy you doesn't have to like press on so you don't take off any of the coverage. I don't think that looks very good on me because it is so Ridiculously gold, but we're gonna put it on my skin anyway So we can see what it looks like so we have a metal moon Which is a lighter version is much more white shade? It's not my favorite So then we also have these guys which are a two-in-one highlighter This is in the shade mean money and hustle baby So let's go and swatch these guys so we have a more blinding intense side Which is this one, and we have a more soft subtle side on this side, so we have them both right here side to side, we have that gnarly intense fucking blinding ass bitch right here, and then we have this subtle bitch for every day so that is really cool about this you guys can make it more subtle you guys can amp it up with a With the other shade if you guys want it to be more intense which I think is really cool Then also grab the shade lightning dust and fire crystal. Rihanna is basically the face of Fenty Beauty it's like Fenty Beauty by Rihanna But Kendo is like the brains behind it. They're the brand that owns It's the same thing with like Marc Jacobs beauty, you know Kendo owns Marc Jacobs beauty It's not just Marc Jacobs beauty I think that kendo did an amazing amazing job, I know Rihanna, of course, was very very involved as well I can definitely tell that this line was a collaborative thing.
It wasn't just done by one person things I did not try in this video where the blotting powder. I am NOT. I don't need to blot right now, but I have used it and it did work fantastically and the blotting paper I did not use in takes video you because I don't need to blot also worked fantastically and is a really really fun like a little roller situation You kind of pat off, but all in all I think the line is great There were some definite hits though some definite misses for me personally. No line is literally perfect in my eyes I think that there's always room for improvement There's always room for growth when it comes to collections and things like that the foundation is incredible.
The primer felt fantastic, the other highlighters were incredible. All of it. Okay guys, let's go ahead and get started a lot of these products I have not used, but I will let you know of the products I have used and that I have tried and I'll have of course a stronger opinion on those a lot of these things are gonna Be more of a first impressions for me as well, so let's get started I have not tried this so this is the Fenty beauty Pro filter soft matte primer and this guy retails for $32 and you get how much you guys get in here 1.08 Fluid ounces Which is a really good amount of product for a primer.
That's very very very fair. Okay? It comes out More of a creamy almost like a lotion-y consistency Yeah, it feels like lotion 100%, so we're gonna put that all over The skin smells really nice actually smells like lotion Feels like lotion, too - I think there's definitely some drag when I'm putting on the skin like I really have to like move the product whoa Much more viscous, but it feels really nice on the skin so personally I have also been using a little bit of pore fessional from benefit in the t-zone I have again gnarly pores and I feel like it really helps this foundation look a lot better so I put a little bit of Porefessional in the center, so now I'm gonna take the little foundation brush. It's very thick a very dense very soft I'm liking it, and I'm gonna take the foundation. This is the Fenty Beauty Foundation It says shake well shake away, and you get one point zero eight fluid ounces in here and this retails for $34 so I think that is such a fair price point for a foundation I think that's actually really amazing when I tell you that I've worn this foundation every single day that I was in New York, I'm not kidding.
Since Friday, I had been wearing this foundation every Single day that I was in New York every single day because I liked it so much and I'm not kidding It's literally like when I found my favorite foundations right now every single day I worn this I've been complimented on my skin, and I'm like yo and when that's happening bitch So this is more of a soft and matte foundation and gives you about a medium coverage It doesn't give you really full full coverage unless you build it up to be more full but again It looks beautiful on the skin, and I definitely can say it builds up very nicely I build it to be full personally because I'm a full coverage girl But if you're not a full coverage kind of person, this foundation still looks wonderful because it gives you a really nice Medium coverage doesn't look really scary on the skin It just looks really pretty But it does dry very quickly So you need to work with it kind of quickly and like really make sure that gets into the skin nicely You know patting motions of course will give you more coverage, and I'll take one more pump And I'll take the little Rihanna beauty sponge. This is the first time you it It's very soft very squishy, so I like that I'm gonna pounce out all over the skin Sponge is $16, so it's cheaper than the Beautyblender, but it feels like the Beautyblender which is pretty nice I'm just gonna pack this all over the skin just to build up the coverage a little bit and again This is in the shade at 230 I find this one matches me a little bit better when I was at the event they have like different little sections that you can Go and try some of the products, and you can pick what you wanted to have and they were color matching people But I thought this was really weird like they were color matching people and there was a lot of red lighting everywhere It wasn't like natural white light or there wasn't no like there was no sunlight so people that were getting matched I'm assuming we're getting matched with the wrong shade I grabbed the shade 230 cuz I matched myself And I'm like hopefully this is like decent and it was decent it was totally fine Don't get me wrong, but it wasn't like definitely my color even this one is a little bit dark for me But it's so more neutral as you can see guys. It is definitely a soft matte finish It's not really shiny whatsoever but it's not super matte. I think it's perfect I love that it literally looks like it filtered on your skin sets itself It's a great foundation and I fucking love it.
So the next product that we have are the match sticks these retail for $25 And I'm gonna take the shade maple and it's a basically is like a bronzy shade how much product you get inside of it you Get point 25 ounces, which of course, I really do not think this is a lot of product I think it's actually a very little amount of product for 25 bucks, and you'll see where I put this or no, okay? Ok..We're not gonna use that shade Because that's literally doing nothing, thank god i grab the shade amber as well. This is more of a cool tone contour shade Okay, so maple was a flop amber was a flop. Let's go and try to shade mocha now because I just feel like those are Really, not working. This is definitely much more of a darker one.
There we go, that looks more accurate And now, we're gonna take the contour and concealer brush This is like a little tiny brush that they have and this retails for okay, so this little guys 24 bucks It's like a kind of an on-the-go little contour brush. I think this is um. I don't know man I personally would not spend 25 bucks on this I definitely would not buy it myself, but if you guys are fans of Rihanna awesome. I'm gonna go ahead and blend this Matchstick in with the foundation, okay? Okay that definitely looks a lot better than it does on this side It's still not like living for it though hold on we're gonna try it on this Yeah, I'm gonna do it like this this is how I'm gonna apply I'm not gonna apply it from the stick directly.
To me, the stick's a little bit too hard And I feel like they take off too much product, but they blend out pretty good There's definitely no harsh lines or anything that but of course I am stippling with this little brush And I would definitely suggest applying it with a brush and not applying it directly on your skin. Well the color is beautiful I like mocha a lot. That's definitely the color that works the best for me, so it blends out don't get me wrong I just think that it takes a little bit of time to blend out it's not like an easy like Quick thing as much with the sponge it definitely blends up a lot nicer than it does with the little brush I would definitely not really suggest the brush the sponge is a lot prettier And it looks a lot more diffused and not as harsh. It's not my favorite product It's definitely my favorite product the the cream stick in the contour shade let's go and try the light shade This is supposed to be a concealer and highlighter in one also guys one more thing I fuckin love Rihanna I love her so much.
I think she's literally amazing and if I can fucking switch lives with anyone It would be her, but that does not mean I'm not gonna be as honest as I possibly can be in a review about her products all I'm saying is I'm gonna be honest No matter what and if you guys don't like that if you guys think that I'm being like mean towards her Or if you guys are gonna be intense and like defend her yo, I get that but it's a review I'm a youtuber this is what I do full-time and Just because I love Rihanna just because you guys love Rihanna does not mean that every single product of hers is gonna work amazingly for Me personally the matchstick Contour stick was not a win again.
